Heathrow Airport – Seized Fire Main / Valve Releasing

Cutlass Technologies responded to an emergency seized valve on a 12-inch fire main at London Heathrow Airport. The valve was preventing operation, and replacing it would have required excavating the hangar floor to over 16 feet and freezing the pipeline with liquid nitrogen, a costly process with loss of supply.

Using our specialist valve releasing technology, our engineers carefully released the seized valve in situ, restoring full operation in under one hour. The fire main remained fully operational, avoiding disruption and expensive downtime.
